I want to thank you and your team for the recent opportunity to study Santa Fe up close. For me and several in our group, it was the first-ever visit to your city.
First, I want to congratulate and thank your entire team: April Gallegos, Kim Harmon, and Justin Cox were each incredibly knowledgeable and supportive during the tour. They were the perfect hosts, guides, and ambassadors to the city and its venues.
Second, I want to thank the mayor for speaking with us at the convention center, and the leadership and staff of each of the hotels, restaurants, museums, galleries, sites, and attractions we visited. I was surprised with how much ground we covered, how much there is to see and do, the variety of places a group can stay.
Going into this tour, the largest barrier in my mind was the distance from Albuquerque -
- but now that I've made the trip, I would much rather move quickly through gorgeous country than crawl through traffic in a larger city.
If one of the purposes of the trip was to create new, informed friends among meeting planners for Santa Fe, I would say you and your team have succeeded. Our organization has been meeting in Santa Fe since the late 1980s. Whether we are bring 100 people or more than a thousand, our members love it. Fifteen or more hotels within easy walking distance of the convention center, many different price points, mostly pet friendly, and each with a unique character. They know the ins and outs of sleeping rooms, event spaces, and all the fun stuff to do, they have great connections with all the properties, and they can help you find just want you want. The art, restaurants, local flavor, and an outdoor mecca, is a huge draw to both our domestic and global membership – everyone has heard of Santa Fe. Only an hour away from a major airport (Albuquerque), it’s an easy drive up the interstate, and Santa Fe’s own regional airport is sweet – no lines, and direct flights from Denver, Dallas, and Phoenix. We love Santa Fe, its people, its charm, and its hospitality. It is always the biggest draw for our annual conferences.
