Artists from the Surface Design Association (SDA) will reinvent the map using felt, cotton, silk, string and countless other fibrous materials in the 3rd International SDA Member Juried Exhibition at form & concept. The gallery is pleased to host Shifting Landscapes, a show that explores traditional and contemporary interpretations of place by artists, designers and makers working with or inspired by fiber or textile materials and techniques. The exhibition opens on Friday, February 24 from 5-7 pm, and runs through May 20, 2017. There will be a gallery talk on Saturday, February 25 from 2-3 pm. visit our website

Join us for an engaging conversation about Shifting Landscapes, the 3rd annual juried exhibition for members of the Surface Design Association (SDA). The show explores traditional and contemporary interpretations of place by artists, designers and makers working with or inspired by fiber or textile materials and techniques. The gallery talk will feature SDA Executive Director Danielle Kelly, and form & concept Gallery Director Frank Rose. Frank juried Shifting Landscapes with artist Erika Lynne Hanson. Bridges to Santa Fe and The Arts Business Institute will sponsor a two-day art business summit. A welcome gallery reception will be held on Friday, March 31 at Blue Rain Gallery Downtown, featuring speaker Elizabeth Hulings, the director of the Clark Hulings Fund for Visual Artists.

Presentations will be made on topics for visual artists, makers and arts educators at this event. Speakers are Wendy Rosen, founder of The Arts Business Institute, Carolyn Edlund, ABI executive director, and attorney Talia Kosh of the Bennett Law Group in Santa Fe.

Topics will include: the new marketplace, pricing for profit, marketing strategies for artists, copyright protection, wholesaling, art licensing, the corporate art market, and more, as well as an expert panel discussion. Individual consultation appointments are available on a limited first-come, first-served basis.

The program will provide lunch for attendees each day, as well as continental breakfast and evening receptions.

Register early and take advantage of the early bird rate for this event of $245, which is a $50 savings over the regular tuition price. Early bird deadline is February 15, 2017. visit our website
