ABOUT SANTA FE
The Santa Fe is one of the most beloved and award-winning travel destinations in the world. Well-regarded as The City Different for over a century, Santa Fe has consistently appeared in the top 10 of Travel + Leisure's "World Best Awards", The Top 10 of Conde Nast's "Reader's Choice Awards", and in a comprehensive array of other major accolades. The multicultural heritages of the Indigenous, Mexican, Spanish Colonial, and Anglo peoples have interacted here for centuries and evolved into a fantastically creative, artistic, and festive community unlike any other in the country—or the hemisphere.
Santa Fe is America’s most relaxing destination and was developed as a walking city. As couples stroll picturesque streets past legendary sites and artisanal boutique shops, they might duck into a world class art gallery, a cozy rooftop lounge with mountain views, a revitalizing stop off The Chocolate or Coffee Tours, one of the nation’s most engaging farmers’ markets, or any of a vast host of restaurants plating culinary wonders such as the signature green and red chile for which the region’s renowned, farm-to-table, organic and virtually any of the globe’s most delectable cuisines.
No sense is left unsatisfied: there’s quality bounty in all pursuits from the symphony, ballet, and visual and performing arts at gorgeous theaters such as The Lensic, Santa Fe Opera or long-time resident George R.R. Martin’s restored Jean Cocteau Cinema to the endless opportunity for hiking, river rafting, horseback riding and skiing in the majestic natural wonders that surround the city for hundreds of miles.
The notably relaxed and hospitable Santa Fe atmosphere is supported by a phenomenal wealth of spa and wellness offerings. The city’s restorative powers are legendary. People have been traveling to the region for centuries to renew body, mind and spirit in the high, dry climate, natural hot springs, clear sunny days and remarkably starry nights.
Similarly, a great many bachelors and bachelorettes—and husbands and wives—cherish Santa Fe as a truly most intimate and amorous city. Awards such as Top Ten City For A Romantic Escape from Travel & Leisure only begin to indicate the discovery, adventure and passion that lovebirds revel in together when they visit. The city plays host to weddings year round with myriad unique luxurious hotels, romantic getaways, and spellbinding vistas to celebrate the occasion.
Memories for a lifetime are forged daily, and because there’s over 300 days of sunshine every year and mild daytime temperatures year round, Santa Fe is a four-season getaway that leaves everyone coming back for more.
Santa Fe makes adventurers more adventurous, artists more artistic, and romancers more romantic. The incomparable purple, gold, indigo and scarlet displays of a Santa Fe “Magic Hour” sunset are prized by film producers, painters, photographers—and even more so by those beholden to the romance of The City Different.
