It is no surprise that listening to Stephanie Hatfield calls up images of wind-swept mesas and sinfully-good heartbreaks. With dreamy lyrics and a story worth telling, her music embodies the emotional release of having your heart ripped apart and lovingly put back together again. Although originally from the Detroit area, this eclectic musician hails from a Kentucky hillbilly heritage with a rich poetic history, and now calls the desert Southwest her home. While it is clear that such varied locations have inspired her lyrics, it is unadulterated passion that drives Hatfield’s music. Much like her physical journey across the country, her musical expressions have also traveled— from the church choir, through genres as diverse as classical, opera, broadway, jazz and folk—and eventually found a home in rock. A sense of heart-wrenching empathy is woven throughout her songs, but it’s the raw power of Hatfield’s expansive voice that makes her the perfect soundtrack for an adrenaline junkie who craves the rush.
Throughout a life of travel and exploration, music has been the one constant for Hatfield. By the age of 8, she was singing in three different church choirs. It was not stage-fright that she felt during her first solo performance, a song performed for 200 people in her Presbyterian congregation, but rather fear that she would trip on the way up to the stage. The sound of the audience’s appreciative applause had her hooked, and Hatfield began traveling for competitions and performances at a young age. Operatically trained, with extensive study in Vocal Performance and classical music at Michigan State University, Hatfield’s diverse and professional musical background can be clearly heard in her latest musical endeavors. If her other pursuits are any indication—Motorcycle Racing, Mountain Search and Rescue, African safaris, swimming with sharks on the Barrier Reef, shooting guns and knitting—Hatfield possesses a tremendous commitment and fearlessness in the chase of her passions. With a vivacious personality to match the compelling singing, songwriting, and performance, Hatfield will make you wish for love just so you can feel the deep ache of heartbreak.

Since 1972 the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival has become one of the world's preeminent music festivals, guided by a visionary spirit and dedicated to artistic excellence and innovation. Contributing to its magic is the Festival's unique Santa Fe setting, nestled amid the timeless splendors of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Today, under the spirited artistic leadership of composer/pianist Marc Neikrug, the Festival invites scores of distinguished musicians, along with emerging young talent, during its six-week season. Thousands of enthusiastic patrons young and old return year after year to enjoy more than 80 concerts, recitals, youth concerts, and open rehearsals. Performances are held in St. Francis Auditorium in the New Mexico Museum of Art and at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. During the year the Festival reaches out to young people in the Santa Fe public schools with innovative and inspiring education programs.
Founded in 1982 by Larry Bandfield, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale is one of the longest continually performing professional music organizations in New Mexico, as well as one of the most distinguished. The Chorale was a recipient of the 2006 Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and in 2016 was named the “Best Choral Group of Santa Fe” by the Santa Fe Reporter. Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News characterized the Chorale as presenting “stunning singing…incredible power.”
Now entering his ninth season as Music Director, Joshua Habermann leads the 24-voice professional Chorale in repertoire spanning seven centuries, from medieval polyphony to contemporary works. The composition of the Chorale is truly national in scope and the ensemble is recognized among the finest American chamber choirs.
Throughout its history, the Chorale has maintained a commitment to give voice to music from Hispanic and Native American communities. Dedicated to advancing the composers of our time, the Chorale has commissioned twenty-two works by eighteen composers; three quarters of the composers commissioned have been American. In addition, another seven works have been given their world or American premieres by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale. The ensemble performs at historical sites in Santa Fe such as the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis and the Loretto Chapel, as well as other venues throughout the Southwest. A recent highlight was an invitational appearance at the 2015 American Choral Directors Association National Conference in Utah which was later broadcast by Minnesota Public Radio.
The Santa Fe Desert Chorale presents both summer and winter festivals of concerts featuring a wide range of literature from around the world. The 2017 Summer Festival Season will take place from July 19 through August 13, 2017. The 2017 Winter Festival Season, “Home for the Holidays,” is scheduled from December 16 to December 23, 2017 with performances in Albuquerque, Los Alamos and Santa Fe.
The Desert Chorale prides itself on its strong relationships within the community of Northern New Mexico, and enjoys collaborations with Creativity for Peace, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, New Mexico History Museum, NDI-NM, Performance Santa Fe, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Santa Fe Pro Musica, and The Santa Fe Opera among others. Community engagement is an integral part of the Desert Chorale’s mission.

Schenck of Hyperactive Music Magazine may have interpreted their sound best by saying “Nosotros’ music is not to be explained, it is to be felt in the pit of our souls.”
The award-winning ensemble began as a guitar trio in 1994 and was based in the southern New Mexico town of Las Cruces. The band gained an almost immediate following. In 2014, Nosotros celebrated 20 years as a band.

Inventive and affordable cuisine with character. Cited as a top stop for great cocktails in Santa Fe publications, visitors and locals alike know The Palace has a New American menu with a range of salads, seafoods, savory dishes and delectable desserts. Steak, lamb, duck and fish dishes are complemented by vegetarian offerings and a lunch and saloon menu that includes burgers, sliders, schnitzel, tacos and sandwiches.
Chefs Jen & Evan Doughty fuse international flavors and inspirations with an American comfort vibe to craft healthy, wholesome dishes with a bright, clean palette.
In addition to the main dining room and the saloon, The Palace has two outdoor dining areas--vibrant, covered streetside seating in downtown Santa Fe and a hidden gem of a patio, enclosed on four sides. A private dining room is also available.
Established in 1850 The Palace Saloon is the best surviving representation of the era and atmosphere in which the infamous La Doña Tules held court, and both the powerful and proletariat came to play. There are many stories, truths, half-truths and myths about the powerful and inspirational Doña Maria Gertrudis Barceló, called "La Doña Tules" (tules can refer to a woman's sheer veil, or a thin reed which could have described her willowy frame). What is certain is that she ran a very successful gambling establishment (and, perhaps, offered more intimate diversions upstairs) on or near the site of The Palace during the 1840s and early 1850s.
