Jackalope® is a home and garden import company founded by Darby McQuade back in 1976 as an outgrowth of his travels in Mexico and around the world. The primary store is located in Santa Fe, NM and is considered one of the top attractions for visitors to Santa Fe each year. Jackalope® is not only an unparalleled shopping experience featuring colorful, rare and unusual items from dozens of cultures around the world, but also a festive world "theme park" featuring six and a half acres of New Mexico sun-drenched excitement including wildlife in the trees, a prairie dog village, an animal barn, a furniture store, an Artisans building filled with international folk arts and crafts with artists in residence, glass blowing demonstrations and a Mercado filled with all types of local gifts and music, glassware and gourmet food items, with a plant nursery in the warmer months set in the middle of a field of colorful garden pottery.
