William Siegal Gallery
The William Siegal Gallery offers museum quality antiquities and contemporary art. For over thirty years owner Bill Siegal has been assembling the world's largest collection of fine ancient and antique Andean textiles dating from 750 BC up to the 19th Century. Additionally, the gallery exhibits ceremonial objects and artifacts from Meso and South American Cultures, as well as objects from China's Han and Tang Dynasties and Southeast Asia. Distinguished African and Indonesian textiles are also prominently featured. In May of 2007, William Siegal Gallery opened its new 5,000 square foot exhibition space, in which antiquities are now hung side by side with the works of outstanding contemporary artists. This proximity between the "old" and the "new" conveys a sublime and timeless trans-cultural aesthetic of modernism. William Siegal Gallery is located in Santa Fe's newly revitalized Railyard District, which is rapidly becoming the central locus of Santa Fe's contemporary art scene. photo by Robert Reck c2007

Thea Witt Natural Light Photography
Natural Light Photography represents the work of fine art photographer Thea Witt. The power of Thea Witt's photography emanates from her unabashed embrace of the art form's essential paradox: every moment is unique, fleeting and pregnant with possibility, yet every image is an intimate study of that moment's highest meaning. Witt has had ample experience in the exploration of how relationships evolve in her personal and professional life. In her artwork, she draws upon this experience, broadening her scope to include relationships not only between people, but also between people and their surroundings, between nature and architecture, and between light and shadow. Witt finds constant inspiration from the incomparable light of northern New Mexico - the same light that D. H. Lawrence once celebrated as proud and soul stirring. What sets Witt apart from the crowd in the world of photography is her willingness to take the time to truly study her subjects as just that - subjects. Not objects to be viewed objectively and admired from a distance or from behind the lens. For Witt, the subject becomes a muse with which she invites and fosters an entirely subjective and passionate relationship. The result is an image that is both personal and universal - with an edge of the inevitable.

The Art Works
How would the world's great artists have painted their cats, if they had one? I've borrowed from their techniques and created original paintings, all of which contain a cat that is up to something. This series is called "Famous Artists' Cats". The paintings have won many awards, been used by publishers as book covers in three countries, and been featured in a play in London. The paintings have been reproduced as quality, archival, fine art prints and may be purchased on "The Cat Gallery" website. Each print is accompanied by a short, funny story about the picture printed under the image. They are also available as canvas transfers.
