With more than 250 galleries to explore, you'll be astonished by the city's array of art, including traditional and contemporary painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, textiles and more.

Get a chance to meet some of the artists at Santa Fe's famous Friday evening gallery openings, which take place year-round but with more frequency during the summer months.

As you walk the city discovering one gallery after another along the legendary Canyon Road, around the Plaza and downtown, and in the developing historic Railyard District, you'll agree: art lies at the heart of Santa Fe.

Thea Witt Natural Light Photography
Natural Light Photography represents the work of fine art photographer Thea Witt. The power of Thea Witt's photography emanates from her unabashed embrace of the art form's essential paradox: every moment is unique, fleeting and pregnant with possibility, yet every image is an intimate study of that moment's highest meaning. Witt has had ample experience in the exploration of how relationships evolve in her personal and professional life. In her artwork, she draws upon this experience, broadening her scope to include relationships not only between people, but also between people and their surroundings, between nature and architecture, and between light and shadow. Witt finds constant inspiration from the incomparable light of northern New Mexico - the same light that D. H. Lawrence once celebrated as proud and soul stirring. What sets Witt apart from the crowd in the world of photography is her willingness to take the time to truly study her subjects as just that - subjects. Not objects to be viewed objectively and admired from a distance or from behind the lens. For Witt, the subject becomes a muse with which she invites and fosters an entirely subjective and passionate relationship. The result is an image that is both personal and universal - with an edge of the inevitable.

POP Gallery
Est. 2006 Pop Gallery continues to raise the bar locally and draw established and emerging Contemporary and New Brow artists to Santa Fe from around the world. Our vision is rooted in providing art lovers with a thought provoking alternative. Rising from the underground world of tattooing and graffiti, comics, cartoons, pop art, illustration, and surrealist artists, the art showcased feeds of the blend of influences and energies well cemented in today's culture. In essence, Pop Gallery continues to represent a celebration of mediums and ideas, the dynamic union between independence and spirit, the emergence of sub-culture on a contemporary platform. As Santa Feans we recognize the importance of the arts and charity in our community. We partner with local literacy organizations, charities/events such as Assistance Dogs of The West, The Santa Fe Childrens Museum, Project 236, Read Across America, NM-NEA, Gerards House, Under Dog Rescue, The Adaptive Ski Program, Buckaroo Ball, Meds and Food for Kids, Bienvenidos Outreach and Southwest C.A.R.E. Center among others. A portion of every sale at Pop Gallery goes directly back into our art community through charitable donations. Artist Submission Policy: Pop Gallery is a fusion of New Brow art & POP Modern art. We do currently have a full roster of artists, but occasionally review new submissions. For consideration, please look over our site carefully and be sure that your work is compatible with our program. We will not consider artists who call or stop by the gallery. We regret that we cannot respond to every submission nor are we able to return materials without a SASE. For consideration, please email one image and link to your website to artinfo@popsantafe.com with subject: Pop Gallery Submission. Where We Are: Santa Fe's only POP Art Gallery is located just off the historic plaza next to the New Mexico History Museum, in the second largest art hub in the USA. Our exhibitions are continually refreshed by the emerging and established New Brow Artists, POP Surreal, Modern & Contemporary artists represented at POP Gallery. POP Gallery hosts an environment unique to the city with vibrant color and a European salon atmosphere thus embracing locals and tourists alike. Our expertise assures you of a quality in the moment experience unlike any other art gallery in the world. Who We Are: Owners & curators Michael McDowell & Sharla Throckmorton-McDowell are collectors at heart and bring over 20 years of diverse high end fine art experience to the gallery which serves private and corporate collections throughout the world.
