You made it to Santa Fe and your first stop should be the Burning of Zozobra on Friday, September 1, 2017! What a way to kick off your Labor Day weekend. The annual  Burning of Zozobra , is an exciting kick-off to Fiestas. Last year the event attracted over 55,000 spectators who gathered at Fort Marcy Park to view the ritual and fireworks display. Santa Fe Fiestas Fine Arts & Crafts Show

Are you looking for one-of-a-kind arts and crafts during your stay in The City Different? The Fiesta Fine Arts and Crafts Market is your place! You can select unique hand fashioned jewelry, pottery, hand-made clothing, stylish leather, paintings, photography, beautiful wood products, hand blown glass, and countless other items in this juried market. The distinctive open-air market is held in the historic downtown Plaza on September 2, 3, and 4, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This is a free event.

 

Santa Fe Society of Artists Art Show

The Santa Fe Society of Artists juried outdoor fine art show affords visitors the opportunity to buy fine painting, printmaking, photography, and sculpture directly from the artists. The Society was founded in 1981 and has remained a premier juried fine art group in Santa Fe. Outdoor art shows like this provide an opportunity to experience firsthand an important part of Santa Fe’s culture—the artists!

The show takes place on September 2 and 3, 2017. You will find the artists at 122 W. Palace Avenue, just west of the historic Santa Fe Plaza.

 

Mariachi Extravaganza

Are you a fan of mariachi music? Does your heart beat faster at the sounds of strumming guitars, ringing trumpets and strong vocals? If so, you’ll want to be a part of the passionate musical experience at the Mariachi Extravaganza. This year Garibaldi will perform at the beautiful Santa Fe Opera. The event takes place on September 2, 2017 starting at 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return is an explorable, immersive art installation filled with technology and fantastic environments to inspire visitors of all ages. The wildly imaginative art space is a collaboration of more than 135 local artists and is a unique combination of art gallery, jungle gym and fantasy novel. Meow Wolf is Santa Fe’s newest attraction for the whole family and is a must see on your Labor Day getaway.

 

Fall Chairlift Rides

Beginning on September 2 through October 15, 2017, the Santa Fe Ski Basin will be offering fall chairlift rides on their comfortable Super Chief Quad chair. The disc golf course will also be open starting Labor Day weekend. The last chairlift down is at 3:30 p.m. Plan your ride around live music, a beer garden, and activities for the whole family offered on select days.

 

Santa Fe Margarita Trail

Your adventure starts with purchasing the Margarita Trail Passport at any TOURISM Santa Fe Visitor Center. The Passport is your invitation to explore Santa Fe’s love and connection to this classic cocktail. There are 31 amazing margaritas on the Trail to tantalize your taste buds, so you’re sure to find a favorite or two! As an added bonus, with your Passport you will receive $1 off the signature Margarita Trail cocktail.
