Have your children wanted to tap into their artistic side? Kids 8 to 18 can now create art for free when they create art with their parents. You’ll be able to paint a canvas with award-winning artist Shirley Crow. What a great way to honor and explore their creativity for free!

 

Be A Chocolate Know-It-All

Cacao Santa Fe will treat your child to a fun chocolate experience in the form of a two hour workshop this spring break. This workshop will prove to be educational, entertaining and fun for the whole family. By attending the workshop, “Food of the Gods”, you will make a chocolate drink from scratch using roasted beans and small hand tools. You’ll also learn the ancient Mayan/Aztec history of chocolate. Now get this, you’ll also sample 7 unique chocolates from around the world! This workshop is free for children 12 and under with paying adult.

If the spirit and dance of flamenco interests you why not take advantage of free flamenco dance instruction from Entreflamenco for you and your family? The class is tailor made for children 7 – 12 and takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The class is free through April 15, 2017! Flamenco percussion will also be offered for those who have two left feet.

More Than A Zoo

The Wildlife West Nature Park is not a zoo per se but a wildlife sanctuary where you can see many different animals roaming in a beautiful setting. Most animals at the park are rescues and will surely bring a smile to your face and your family! Take a leisurely stroll through the grounds and observe these beautiful animals in a natural habitat. For each paid adult or senior admission you will receive one free kid’s admission. Come meet their new cougars, Zia and True,  and their three new coyotes, Chewy, Luna and Dakota! It’s fun to recycle, re-design and reuse corks into a fun project! Estrella Del Norte Vineyard has a great workshop lined up for kids. As they craft their cork project you can enjoy a wine tasting at this exquisite vineyard. This offer is valid for one child per $6 wine tasting adult and during winery hours from March 1 through April 15, 2017.

The Santa Fe Children's Museum extends an invitation to join them for their Spring Break Spectacular offering free admission to one child with every paying adult. The museum is one of Santa Fe’s most interesting exploratory spaces for children of all ages. They offer over 35 interactive exhibits which include giant bubbles, a puppet theater and a 1.5 acre outdoor educational garden.

If your children would like to learn more about art, the kid-friendly Canyon Road Gallery Tours are for those who want to have a unique cultural experience in the City Different. You and your family will visit three Canyon Road art galleries. You will interact with digital art, meet an artist and explore other materials and media. The tour is designed for families with children from ages 5-9. Adults will totally have fun, too!
