Hooray For Bollywood!
Performance Santa Fe presents Taj Express (Bollywood), an internationally acclaimed musical. It is a dazzling theatrical spectacular wrapped into 120 minutes of swirling colors, sparkle, shimmer and electrifying energy, which weaves its magic to mesmerize and captivate audiences.
The musical, according to its website, “lights up the stage with shimmering costumes, fast tempo hits and a Bollywood story unraveled through high energy dance routines showcasing a surge of vibrant footwork and an illustration of emotional rapture.” The musical takes place on April 12, 2017 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Baroque Music During Holy Week
Santa Fe Pro Musica returns this April for the annual Baroque Holy Week performances on April 13, 14, and 15, 2017 in the beautiful Loretto Chapel. You’ll be treated to the music of three well known composers—Handel, Vivaldi and Bach. The Santa Fe Pro Musica Baroque Ensemble is a springtime favorite in The City Different. Shop At The Santa Fe Artists Market
If you enjoy fine arts and crafts from local and juried artists here in Northern New Mexico, look no further than the Santa Fe Artists Market. Here you will find jewelry, paintings, pottery, furniture, sculptures and much more. The market takes place at the Santa Fe Railyard from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm every Saturday through December.
Discover The Santa Fe Farmers Market
The Santa Fe Farmers Market is a sensory explosion of color, scents, music, and pride in community that is nearly impossible to put into words. The cross section of locals and visitors happily strolling, sipping coffee, and filling baskets with local produce, fresh breads, seasonal herbs, free range eggs, aromatic fresh and dried chiles, local honey and jams, luxurious body products, and homemade tamales, will transform your mood and test your bliss endurance. It’s no wonder it was recently voted as one of the Best Farmers Market by the readers of USA Today and 10Best. It’s not to be missed! The Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Santa Fe Railyard.
From Cherry Blossoms to Apricot Blossoms
Immerse yourself in Santa Fe’s Japanese community at its annual festival – The Santa Fe Japanese Culture Festival. The parallels between Japan and Santa Fe are evident as we share fragrant flowers, winds that sends kites aloft, a rich historic culture and blossoms! Japan has cherry blossoms and Santa Fe has apricot blossoms!
The event takes place on April 29, 2017 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Enjoy Japanese food, music, exhibits and shop local vendors. Santa Fe prides itself for being a diverse community and it is clearly emphasized each year with this popular festival. There will be delicious Japanese food from local restaurant, Shohko Café, and a tea ceremony as well.
