You say you’ve never been the Santa Fe Ski basin? You’ll want to take the scenic 16-mile drive that leads from the Santa Fe Plaza into the beautiful  Sangre de Cristo Mountains—and you’ll find you are at the Santa Fe Ski basin—an event in its own right.

High above The City Different, [blog_link url="https://skisantafe.com/" text="Ski Santa Fe" date="2016-12-06"] has a wonderful range of terrain, from isolated beginner slopes to lots of cruisers, some long bump runs, great glades and tree runs, and even a few short chutes and small bowls. After a day on the mountain, return down to Santa Fe for a hearty [blog_link url="https://santafe.org/Visiting_Santa_Fe/Dine/index.html" text="New Mexican dish" date="2016-12-06"] or a drink by the fire. Be sure to take advantage of the [blog_link url="http://ncrtd.org/rtd-mountain-trail.aspx" text="RTD Mountain Trail Route" date="2016-12-06"] that provides service through downtown Santa Fe to Fort Marcy Park and then up Hyde Park Road to recreational areas and business along NM 475 (Ten Thousand Waves) into the Santa Fe National Forest and then Ski Santa Fe.
