 Celebrate Easter Events in Santa Fe

So you plan to be in Santa Fe on Easter Sunday (April 1) and your children want to go on an Easter egg hunt. Where to go? The Santa Fe Botanical Garden will be holding its annual Easter Egg Hunt in the gardens. The hunt is on from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Children 12 and under are free and will receive prizes. The Easter Bunny will also be there ready for photos. After the hunt, Easter brunch awaits you at Terra at the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, Rio Chama and Luminaria at the Inn and Spa at Loretto.

Earth Day Activities at the Santa Fe Railyard

The Santa Fe Railyard, Santa Fe’s newest old neighborhood, has become a gathering place for all Santa Fean’s and visitors alike. One of the Railyard’s main attractions is the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market, which is held on Saturdays year-round. Be sure to visit the Railyard Park which is the “green heart” of the district. On April 21, 2018, the Railyard Park Conservancy will host Earth Day at the Santa Fe Railyard.  Audubon’s Randall Davey Center, Master Gardeners, Reunity Recycles, NMSU Extension, and the City of Santa Fe Water Division will also be on hand to provide workshops during the celebration.  Also, on April 22, 2018, The Railyard Conservancy will be hosting a Native Plant Walk through the park lead by Gail Haggard of Plants of the Southwest.

 

Performing Arts Events in April 

The Parsons Dance is a New York City based modern dance company, internationally renowned for creating and performing contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry that is accessible and enriching to diverse audiences. The dance troupe arrives in Santa Fe on April 6, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. and performs at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Learn more about this performance here.

 

The Santa Fe Symphony’s most highly anticipated concert of the season is when The Symphony’s very own Principal Conductor and violin virtuoso, Guillermo Figueroa, is joined by his sister, renowned pianist Ivonne Figueroa, for a musical evening featuring some of the most romantic pieces for violin and piano that you have ever heard.  This performance takes places on April 12, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.

 

 

The Kronos Quartet combines a spirit of fearless exploitation with a commitment to continually reimagining the string quartet experience. The group has been together for more than 40 years and with that, they have become one of the most acclaimed and significant groups of our time. Performance Santa Fe presents the group on April 21, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Lensic Performing Arts Center. You’ll hear everything from Phillip Glass and Laurie Anderson to the traditional version of “The House of the Rising Sun.” Spend an evening listening to one of the most honored and acclaimed groups of our time.
