MARKETING REPORT

A Message from Executive Director
Randy Randall

Randy Randall, Executive Director

As October has flown by, it is time to start thinking about experiences for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the winter season. This is a very popular time for visitors to come to Santa Fe and having something special to offer relative to these holidays is an important experience to develop. We will be offering a special promotional landing page on santafe.org where your experience(s) will be posted. If we get strong enough participation, special digital marketing will be engaged to bring interested visitors to the landing page.

It will also have a feature block on the homepage of santafe.org to drive more traffic to the landing page.

As you do this, I encourage you to think outside the box. Santa Fe is “The City Different” and the theme of our recently launched advertising campaign is “Uncover your Different”. Do not make your holiday and winter experience(s) the same old thing that could be offered in Anywhere, USA. Make it something unexpected, unusual and appropriate to Santa Fe. And the more it offers with interactive participation, the better it will be received by our growing number of Millennium visitors. Instructions on how to add your experience(s) are below.

As the second most popular city in the U.S. with the highest level of Art Vibrancy, we all need to work together to stay ahead of the other cities that envy our positioning and work hard every day to catch up. Let’s stay aheadǃ

Randy Randall

[New] Add your Santa Fe Holiday and Winter Experiences

Santa Fe is known as "The City Different" and the theme of our recently launched advertising campaign is "Uncover Your Different." This holiday and winter season let's give our visitors the opportunity to uncover a new, different, and unexpected part of Santa Fe.

TOURISM Santa Fe is launching a dedicated landing page to promote your Holiday and Winter Experiences.

Many of our partners are already offering a variety of classes, workshops, and tours. We are seeking new and exciting ways that build upon what many of you already offer - ideas that offer the greatest potential for rewarding experiences and life-long memories. Travelers are looking for experiences that give them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture of the place they are visiting, rather than simply viewing it from a distance.

Submit your experiences today to be featured on the landing page. The sooner you add your experience, the more exposure you will receive on the page when it goes live next week.

Things to know:
  • The experience must be offered through February 29, 2020.
  • You may add multiple experiences, but must submit a new form for each.
  • Each submitted experience is limited to a single category (see form for the list of categories)
  • The following information will be required on the form.
    • Name of experience (max: 30 characters)
    • High resolution image (size: 720x480)
    • Intro text to describe your experience (max: 425 characters)
    • Full description of your experience (max: 600 characters)
    • Pricing and Restrictions
    • Website URL
To get started, login to your Business Partner dashboard on santafe.org. Click on the purple button that says, “Add your Holiday and Winter Experiences” and then the red button that says, “Add A New Experience.” Please read all of the instructions and complete the form. Click “Add Experience” to submit the form.

If you need assistance logging in or completing the form, contact us at business@santafe.org or call Athena Martinez at 505-955-6214.

TOURISM SANTA FE PUBLIC RELATIONS UPDATE

TOURISM Santa Fe saw an increase of 50% in earned media value this month when compared to October 2018. The increase was driven by coverage in numerous top-tier outlets including MSN, USA Today’s 10Best, Architectural Digest and the Los Angeles Times.

Most notably, after establishing an ongoing working relationship with Travel Editor, Catharine Hamm, the Los Angeles Times, which is a huge market for the destination, produced a Weekend Escape column on Santa Fe which included a collection of partnering hotels, restaurants and galleries. Another stand out article was the Architectural Digest piece produced by Kate Donnelly highlighting things to do and places to stay on a 3-day getaway in Santa Fe.

A major highlight this month was the release of the 2019 Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards. Santa Fe was ranked the #2 U.S. city destination and our partners were ranked as follows:

Top 10 Hotels in USA
  • 4th – Inn of the Five Graces
Top 20 Hotels in USA/Southwest & West
  • 1st – Inn of the Five Graces
  • 2nd – La Fonda on the Plaza
  • 9th – Eldorado Hotel & Spa
  • 12th – Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi
Top 30 Resorts in USA/Southwest & Texas
  • 7th – La Posada de Santa Fe, a Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa
