2018 April, Food & Drink are Stars at Upcoming Santa Fe Events

April 25, 2018: The centuries-old Indigenous American, Spanish and Anglo influences in Santa Fe, New Mexico have created a culinary scene that is not only southwestern, but distinctly “Santa Fe.” The culinary footprint of the region is celebrated at events throughout the year within The City Different.

Cocktails & Culture Festival – June 1-3, 2018
The Cocktails & Culture Festival, held at Santa Fe’s Drury Plaza Hotel, is a multi-day celebration including cocktail and food tastings, educational seminars, and live entertainment. The three-day event raises money for the Helen David Relief Fund (benefitting bartenders battling breast cancer), Cooking With Kids, and the Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico. VIP weekend passes ($250) include all eight events, a gift bag, souvenir glass and festival t-shirt. A-la-carte ticket prices for the individual events start at $20. www.nmcocktailculture.com

ARTSmart New Mexico’s Edible Art Tour – June 8-9, 2018
ARTsmart New Mexico’s popular Edible Art Tour is a two-night festival inviting guests to eat their way from gallery to gallery tasting food from a selection of Santa Fe’s top restaurants and caterers. Friday night will highlight Canyon Road galleries and Saturday night will feature downtown galleries. Tickets cost $35 each, which includes all bites and access to both nights. www.artsmartnm.org

25th Annual Santa Fe Wine Festival at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas – June 30-July 1, 2018
Visitors can visit El Rancho de Las Golondrinas to taste handmade wines from 20 different wineries around the state of New Mexico during this annual wine event. The festival, which is Santa Fe’s longest running wine festival, also offers delicious food, live music, and arts and crafts vendors. Tickets are on sale for adults 21+ (includes wine glass) for $18, youth admission (13–20 years old) is $5, Children 12 and under are free. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a legal age guardian. All participants must present a valid ID to sample or buy wine. www.golondrinas.org

Panza Llena, Corazón Contento: New Mexico Food and Beer Festival – August 4-5, 2018
The second annual Panza Llena, Corazón Contento: New Mexico Food and Beer Festival is a historical journey through the flavors of Santa Fe. Guests have the opportunity to experience historic methods of food preparation, learn from food historians, attend culinary demonstrations, shop with local vendors and artisans and enjoy beer from more than 10 local New Mexican breweries. Taking place from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at El Rancho de las Golondrinas, adult admission is $8, seniors (62+), teens (13-19) are $6 and kids 12 and under are free. www.golondrinas.org

Outside Bike & Brew – September 1-2, 2018
Outside Magazine celebrates the mountains of Santa Fe with the Bike & Brew Festival featuring a series of bike rides, concerts, workshops and craft beer tastings. The two-day event will feature beer gardens, a bike expo, a hand built bike showcase, a food truck rally as well as countless New Mexican craft beers. Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown – September 8, 2018
The Smackdown brings various Santa Fe chefs together in a competition highlighting New Mexico’s signature variation on the classic American burger, the Green Chile Cheeseburger. With more than 32,000 burgers seared for 4,000 guests during this 4-hour event, attendees must come ready to test them all. Attendees have the opportunity to vote and determine the People’s Choice Winner, while a panel of foodie celebrities judge the burgers to select the Smackdown’s top honor, the “Reigning Chomp” award as well as the Best Alternative Burger award. The event begins at 1:00 p.m. for early bird ticket holders or 2:00 p.m. for general admission. Tickets go on sale June 1, 2018 and pricing will be available soon. www.ediblesmackdown.com

28th Annual Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta – September 26-30, 2018
The Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta is a beloved five-day series of events featuring the culinary artistry found in Santa Fe’s many excellent restaurants coupled with the sophistication and varieties of national wineries. Guests can enjoy cooking demos, wine seminars, winery luncheons and wine-pairing dinners. The Fiesta culminates with the Grand Tasting at the Santa Fe Opera where 75 participating Santa Fe restaurants and 90 wineries serve samples of their best chile-themed food and wine. Tickets always go on sale the first business day after Independence Day at 9:00 a.m. MST. The event schedule is posted in June. www.santafewineandchile.org
