2016 January, SANTA FE TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL FOODIE CLASSIC THIS WEEKENDJanuary 11, 2016: Foodies will converge this weekend in Santa Fe to taste and sample the best food and beverages of the state. The Santa Fe Foodie Classic, which has received national attention, celebrates the unique and artistic culinary renaissance occurring in New Mexico.
“New Mexico is taking flavors and traditions that are deeply rooted in the culture and pairing them with innovation and artistic exploration to make food and beverage creations that are truly special,” says Micaela Brown, President of Heritage Productions, “from Silver City to Abiquiu, Santa Fe and Albuquerque.”
The three-day event runs January 15-17, the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. Participants include Chef John Rivera Sedlar from Bravo television’s Top Chef Masters, nationally-recognized restaurants such Georgia—voted one of the Best New Restaurants in Santa Fe by Travel and Leisure magazine—and The Chocolate Smith which was featured on the Food Network’s Road Tasted with the Neelys.
For the Grand Tasting on January 16, the Santa Fe Convention Center is transformed into a Foodie Showcase where culinary artists, distillers, brewmasters, and winemakers put their best on display for foodies to sample and savor. Admission includes tastings from all and a souvenir tasting glass.
