2016 February, Santa Fe Re-Opens OTAB Application Process

February 26, 2016: TOURISM Santa Fe announces the re-opening of the application period for Occupancy Tax Advisory Board (OTAB) grants for use in 2016. At the February OTAB meeting, the board voted to re-open the application process to allocate the remaining funds for fiscal year 2016-2017.

Applications are now being accepted by TOURISM Santa Fe through March 31, 2016. Reviews of all grant applications will be conducted in early April and funds will be awarded by April 15, 2016

OTAB is charged with an annual recommendation on the granting of funds in the amount of $70,000 to non-profit organizations to support marketing efforts of reoccurring events. OTAB has adopted the following guidelines for this process:

1. Grants will favor new events that occur in the typical shoulder seasons and off-season to stimulate increased occupancy in hotels.

2. All events that receive marketing funds must be reoccurring events on not less than an annual basis.

3. Organizations can request funding for up to three years, with the maximum award for the first year $30,000, the second year $15,000, and the third year $7,500. Funding for years two and three is not guaranteed and the organization must reapply each year. Maximum funding does not need to be requested.

Grant applications are available on line at in the TOURISM Santa Fe listing, under OTAB Committee.
