Which of our community's finest restaurants has the best soups in Santa Fe? You decideǃ The 21st annual Souper Bowl, a benefit event for The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico's food bank, will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:30 PM at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. Guests will thrill in the competition, grab some fabulous silent auction items and have an opportunity to purchase a cookbook featuring soup recipes from Santa Fe's finest chefsǃ Small trays to help you carry the many delectable soup samplers are also available for purchase.

This year's competition will feature soups from 29 local restaurants that will be competing in four categories--Best Cream Soup, Best Savory Soup, Best Seafood Soup, Best Vegetarian Soup--with all restaurants competing for the Best Overall Soup.

The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico's food bank, provides 500,000 meals a month to the hungry via a network of over 145 partner nonprofit food programs. 100% of the proceeds from the Souper Bowl will go directly towards feeding Northern New Mexicans in need. Every dollar donated to The Food Depot provides four mealsǃ

CANCER FOUNDATION FOR NEW MEXICO'S SWEETHEART AUCTION Celebrates its 10th year—FEBRUARY 7, 2015

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico (CFFNM) will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its most important fundraiser of the year—the tenth annual Sweetheart Auction on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Held at the Santa Fe Convention Center, this festive evening features a delicious dinner and dessert buffet, an open wine and beer bar, the Dream Vacation raffle, and fantastic silent and live auctions featuring over 300 items--just in time for Valentine's Day shopping.

Some of this year's unique auction items include a 10-day luxury African safari for two with Africa Calls; a fly fishing escape for two at Soaring Eagle Lodge on the San Juan River in northwestern New Mexico; a catered BBQ for 50 in your home from Whole Hog Café; a weekend “staycation” for two at La Fonda on the Plaza; striking sculptures by Allan Houser, Kevin Box, Preston Singletary, and Jill Shwaiko; and paintings by Earl Biss, Grant MacDonald, Frederico Vigil, Donna Howell Sickles, and Erin Currier. The auction has always featured dinners with notable guests, including Robert Redford, Ali MacGraw, Valerie Plame, Hampton Sides, astronauts, filmmakers, athletes, and many more. This year's auction dinners will be announced shortly. Other auction items include fine jewelry, weekend excursions, chefs' dinners, cooking classes, gift certificates for hotels and restaurants, and much more.

The Sweetheart Auction takes place on February 7, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe Convention Center. Tickets are $75 and include a dinner/dessert buffet and open wine bar.
