Allan Houser Sculpture Garden Tours

The Allan Houser Sculpture Garden is located just twenty-five minutes from Santa Fe off Highway 14, New Mexico's historic Turquoise Trail. Allan Houser, Inc. offers daily tours by appointment. They also hold annual events such as the Open House during Indian Market in August and the Sunset Tour in September.

The Gardens offer the opportunity to bathe in quiet beauty and tranquility and to experience Allan Houser's works in the place they were created.

Our tour guides will show you the pieces that have made Allan Houser one of the most respected modernist sculptors of his time as well as one of the premier Native American artists of the twentieth century.

Shidoni Foundry & Sculpture Garden

Shidoni pour225HOne of the greatest resources available for art collectors and sculptors is located five miles north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the village of Tesuque (te-soo-ke). Shidoni, an art gallery including 8 acres of sculpture gardens and bronze art foundry, is situated along the Rio Tesuque on a former apple orchard.

Visitors have the opportunity to visit the indoor art galleries which represent more than 150 artists from all over the country, stroll the gallery sculpture gardens, as well as watch 2000 degree molten bronze being poured into ceramic shell molds. "Shidoni" is a Navajo word used as a greeting to a friend.

Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary

AudubonActivitiesThe Randall Davey Audubon Center encompasses 135 acres of striking landscapes and wildlife. Bounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and Santa Fe River Watershed land, the Center and Sanctuary provides a peaceful sanctuary for plants, animals and our visitors. Ranging from common to rare, approximately 130 species of birds can be found in or over the various ecosystems of this sanctuary.

Visitors can take guided bird walks, tour the historic Randall Davey Home and Art Studio and hike on trails that lead through several different habitats and plant zones ranging from meadows to Ponderosa Pine forests. Volunteer opportunities are available and education programs for all ages are offered year-round.

Center for Contemporary Arts

El Rancho de las Golondrinas

golondrinasEl Rancho de las Golondrinas is a living history museum located on 200 acres in a rural farming valley just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The museum, dedicated to the history, heritage and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico, opened in 1972. Original colonial buildings on the site date from the early 1700s.

In addition, historic buildings from other parts of northern New Mexico have been reconstructed at Las Golondrinas. Villagers clothed in the styles of the times show how life was lived on the frontier in early New Mexico. Special festivals and weekend events offer visitors an in-depth look into the celebrations, music, dance and many other aspects of life in the Spanish, Mexican and Territorial periods of the Southwest.
