A visit to the Michael Smith Gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe is an extraordinary experience. Located in a large, 275 year-old adobe home, the Gallery is filled with the sights and smells appropriate to its cultural significance. Visitors are imbued with the warmth and spirit of the Southwest as they walk under viga ceilings and past kiva fireplaces, viewing the finest in American Indian Art and Antiquities. There are stacks of historic Navajo and Pueblo weavings and rugs, California and Northwest Coast Indian baskets, and of course, Southwestern Indian baskets. We also feature some contemporary pieces including Wounaan Indian baskets, plein-air paintings, and embroidery art.
