Laura Center Navajo Rug Restoration
By appointment only.
Since 1977, for the last 36 years, I have been restoring Navajo rugs out of my Santa Fe studio. When you schedule an appointment with me, we look at your textile/s together or they may be sent to me and I will discuss the information over the phone with you. Although, I'm not an appraiser and do not buy and sell Navajo rugs, I do know the "general ball park" value of the rugs, which lets the client know if the rug is valued enough to warrant repairs or lets them know that the cost of restoration would be considered "sentimental" in value, if they choose to have it restored. The restoration I do is normally not seen, as I hand-card and hand-spin most all the yarns I put into the rug. I also advise on washing, storage and application use for each textile. A 'Rug Report' can be written up which is two full pages describing the textile, in detail, with book references, concerning it's style, age, area where it was woven, condition, thread count, dyes and yarns used as well as the personal history of the rug, as the client informs me, along with a full and detailed photos. Local references are numerous, including the Santa Fe Indian Market and Spanish Market where I have had the honor of being a weaving judge at both events, as well as a judge for the Fiber Arts Festival at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. I speak locally at different venues concerning Navajo rugs and I have taught a Navajo Rug Appreciation class at the Santa Fe Community College.

Pippin Contemporary
125 Lincoln Avenue, Suite 114
Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501
Pippin Contemporary, founded May 2011 by Aleta Pippin, is committed to showing artwork that is, at once, fresh and vibrant, as well as collectible. Words most often heard by guests who enter Pippin Contemporary are "I was drawn in by the amazing color" and "it feels so good in here." These feelings are standard, hard to put one's finger on, yet a common thread weaving throughout our guests/collectors experience.
Pippin Contemporary's artists are selected for their energetic and tactile expressions. Each artist celebrates life with colorful and authentic insights, expanding the realm of possibilities in their artwork. Their expressions range from abstraction to colorful landscapes and abstracted figurative paintings, Pop art, glass sculpture, kinetic sculpture, colorful steel and bronze pieces - all exhibiting the passion our artists feel about their artwork. How that passion translates creates an element of surprise, offering the viewer a venue through which to access their emotions, transporting themselves to their inner worlds.
Owned by an artist, we at Pippin Contemporary understand the importance of the artist, gallery, collector relationship. Collecting art is about that relationship as much as it is about the purchase. Oftentimes, our collectors become friends who make it a point to stop in whenever visiting Santa Fe.

Purple Adobe Lavender Farm
HwY 84 pr 1622
Abiquiu, NM 87510
A Little About Our Farm......
Our farm was established in 2004 to grow and provide efficient, expert growing solutions for growing the finest lavender. We want to bring the best growing information to provide success to our customers and individuals interested in growing their own lavender. Whether it be for personal growers of lavender flower gardens or a commercial lavender growing farm, we want you to be informed so you can grow lavender successfully.
Our Lavender Store is open during the season from May until the end of October. We have lovely items made from our lavender organically grown on our farm. We have lotions, scrubs, balms, candles, sachet and so much more to see.
We offer tours of the farm and also invite guests to just visit the farm and take a self-guided tour as well, it is a lovely trip to the country with many things to do here in Aibquiu, Georgia O'Keeffe country.
Our farm is located in the beautiful Chama River Valley of Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Abiquiu is best known for the captivating views, mountain terrain and Chama River where the painter Georgia O'Keeffe lived, loved, and painted so often.
Because of the terrain with its sandy soil, high altitude, and intense sunlight it is the perfect location to grow lavender. Lavender grown at higher altitudes produces a finer, sweeter grade of lavender oil.
We are dedicated to growing organically. We strive to grow the finest lavender here at our farm in New Mexico. We harvest, sell, and steam distill the lavender flowers to use in our lavender bath and body products. The resurgence of lavender to New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, has been welcomed by many as being long overdue.
Our lavender is grown at a higher altitude which produces a finer grade of lavender essential oil that is used in our Purple Adobe Lavender & Belle Essence bath and body product lines. These products are available at Santa Fe Farmer's Market, our gift shop and local stores. Lavender has long been known for its astounding healing qualities. It is a known calmative, and has antibacterial and anti-microbial properties aiding in its restorative abilities.
Our fields are alive with the scent of lavender during July and August. The intense fragrance will leave you feeling as though you are at a lavender farm in Provence France. There is nothing quite so wonderful as a field of lavender. The scent is intoxicating and pleasing to the senses.
We grow 15 varieties of special lavender all ready to be picked in July. Whether you want lavender fresh cut, dried, use for specific crafts or simply adorning your table, we have the variety you need. Just ask us, we are happy to tell you all about lavender and which variety is used for your special needs.
We hope you'll find the farm as healing and wonderful as we do. We look forward to seeing you at the farm.

COME JOIN US IN CELEBRATING OUR 30TH ANNIVERSARY!
Located inside the Historic La Fonda Hotel, Things Finer has been Santa Fe's premier source for fine antique and contemporary jewelry for over 30 years. With over 80 years of expertise as a family enterprise, Things Finer makes acquiring unique treasures a fabulous experience.
Offering an eclectic array of treasures from the four corners of the earth, we are pleased to delight our generations of loyal clients with jewelry, antique silver, crystal and objets d'art, gift items, decorative accessories, and whimsical holiday ornaments. We also supply our select clientele with luxury linens, china, home furnishings, and, of course, custom jewelry design.
We pride ourselves on our integrity, and our commitment to supplying our varied and savvy clientele with a variety of items, prices levels, and styles. We can reset items you no longer wear or that just don't suit, or design fabulous custom creations to your exact specifications. Plus, we buy every day. Jewelry you don't like, don't wear, or don't need can be turned into cash after a skilled and professional appraisal. Feel free to call and discuss selling your items in privacy, and with discretion.
From the romance of the Eighteenth Century, the elegance of the Georgians and Victorians, the turn of the last century, the best designs of this one, and, now the new millennium, the finest works of art and adornment can be found at Things Finer.
If your taste runs to the unexpected and exceptional, if you don't want to wear what every one else is wearing this year, Things Finer will be your favorite shopping experience, now and for years to come.
