The Center for Contemporary Arts is a non-profit multidisciplinary arts organization that seeks to identify, promote and present the work of visionary contemporary artists – both emerging and established -- while stimulating a broader audience for these artists and their work. Through film, media, visual and performing arts, and educational programming, CCA provides an accessible forum for the exploration of new ideas in contemporary art and thought. Includes over 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, plus a 130-seat Cinematheque. Open 10 to 9 Monday through Friday, and 1 to 9 on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free to exhibits. Admission charge for selected events; films at CCA Cinematheque are discounted for members, students, and seniors.

This non-circulating, closed-stack research facility is part of the Palace of the Governors and provides an excellent collection of historical material relating to the history of New Mexico, the Southwest and meso-America from pre-European contact to the present. It also houses the Photo Archives of the Palace of the Governors, where more than 750,000 historic photos, negatives, slides and other visual records document New Mexico's history as well as the history of Latin America, Europe, Oceana, the Far East and the Middle East.

Monika Kaden is an internationally known sculpture, installation- and mixed media artist. She worked with the Santa Fe Art Institute and Santa Fe Opera. One of her signature sculptures ‘St. Francis Dancing on Water’ can be viewed in front of the Cathedral Basilica St. Francis of Assisi downtown Santa Fe. Monika’s work on a larger-than-life sized statue of Pope John XXIII was also the subject of a Mary Townsend-produced documentary entitled "All Days Are Good for Being Born", which won honorable mention at the ReelHeART International Film Festival 2007 in Toronto. Monika Kaden recently finished the eleven feet tall colored patina bronze statue “Barbette-Dancer", based on the essay by Joan Cocteau “Barbette”, which can be seen downtown Santa Fe, on Paseo De Peralta corner Marcy Street. More of her unique work can be seen at her studio in downtown Santa Fe and can be purchased. She takes commissions as well and helps clients with the design for special places. Wordharvest Writers workshops offers intensive one-day writing workshops with faculty who are published authors. The programs, limited to 15 participants, have focused on all aspects of writing. The summer 2008 series includes writing and publishing works for children, screen plays, fiction, non-fiction and travel writing. The workshops usually include hands-on writing, and welcome beginners as well as seasoned writers. Most faculty come from the Santa Fe area. We offer a summer series and usually a spring series. In addition, Wordharvest presented the Tony Hillerman Writers Conference: Focus on Mystery that includes two writing contests. The Hillerman Prize, originated in 2006, honors a first mystery set in the Southwest, and is co-sponsored by St. Martin’s Press. The Tony Hillerman Mystery Short Story Contest, co-sponsored by Cowboys & Indians magazine, offers $1500 and publication.
WORDHARVEST was established in 2001 by two energetic Santa Fe women, Anne Hillerman and Jean Schaumberg. A native Santa Fean, Jean Schaumberg has a life- long interest in books. Her career includes work as an acquisition and reference librarian, a bookstore owner and manager, and a writers’ conference coordinator, and work in development for a Santa Fe nonprofit. WORDHARVEST springs from her continued interest in the written word and the desire to promote it by assisting budding authors.
Anne Hillerman is a journalist, author, writing coach, freelance writer and avid reader. After a 25-year career in newspapers, including work as an editorial page editor, Anne and Jean launched WORDHARVEST in 2001. Anne is the author of published four books including The Insiders’ Guide to Santa Fe and Children’s Guide to Santa Fe. Forthcoming books include a restaurant guide to Santa Fe, a gardening guide to the City Different, and a collaboration with her dad Tony Hillerman that highlights the landscapes in his mystery novels. Among her interests are memoir writing and personal stories.
