Monika Kaden is an internationally known sculpture, installation- and mixed media artist. She worked with the Santa Fe Art Institute and Santa Fe Opera. One of her signature sculptures ‘St. Francis Dancing on Water’ can be viewed in front of the Cathedral Basilica St. Francis of Assisi downtown Santa Fe. Monika’s work on a larger-than-life sized statue of Pope John XXIII was also the subject of a Mary Townsend-produced documentary entitled "All Days Are Good for Being Born", which won honorable mention at the ReelHeART International Film Festival 2007 in Toronto. Monika Kaden recently finished the eleven feet tall colored patina bronze statue “Barbette-Dancer", based on the essay by Joan Cocteau “Barbette”, which can be seen downtown Santa Fe, on Paseo De Peralta corner Marcy Street.
