Over a Quarter Century of Outdoor Shows
The Society was founded in 1981 and has remained the premier juried fine art group in Santa Fe since that time.
A vital part of the festivity and creativity that draws visitors to Santa Fe, the SFSA outdoor fine art shows afford an opportunity to experience firsthand an important part of Santa Fe’s culture – the artists!
Independent Spirit
SFSA provides a vehicle for Santa Fe artists to self-promote and exhibit independently. The original 23 founding artists agreed that the best stimulus for artistic and professional growth was exhibiting their own artwork in a public setting. This principle remains true today.
Convenient Downtown Location
SFSA outdoor fine art shows have always been held in the heart of Santa Fe. Our current location is just west of the First National Bank building (Plaza location) between Palace Avenue and San Francisco Street.
Community Spirit
The Society actively supports local community art groups and public schools through donations and scholarships. Past examples include financial support for Fine Arts for Children and Teens (FACT) after-school art classes and $500 scholarships awarded to senior high school art students. Most recently, SFSA purchased and donated copies of The Artist Handbook to libraries at each public school in Santa Fe.
