The Santa Fe Farmers Market has been recognized as one of the top local markets in the country and is a popular spot for locals and visitors during its Saturday and Tuesday market days. After polling local restaurants, an additional market day was selected to better serve busy Santa Fe chefs wanting to support the Santa Fe Alliance's growing Farm to Restaurant initiative.
Beginning on June 24, 2010, the Santa Fe Farmers Market will be open on Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

The Inaugural flight of American Eagle's new daily, non-stop service between Los Angeles and Santa Fe took off from the city's municipal airport on November 19, 2009 becoming the third daily flight now serving the city. The Los Angeles service was joined by a second daily flight from Dallas to Santa Fe that also began service on 11/19. The two new flights are in addition to the first daily Dallas to Santa Fe flight that began serving the city in mid-June.

The new Santa Fe Geocaching Challenge uses GPS (global positioning system) technology and some of the city's most prominent landmarks in an adventurous new way to explore the history and culture of Santa Fe. American Eagle will begin new daily, roundtrip air service between the Santa Fe Municipal Airport and Los Angeles LAX beginning on November 19, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson announced. He revealed news about the flight today, June 11, 2009 at the Santa Fe airport during a press conference held after the first of American Eagle's direct service flights between Dallas and Santa Fe landed.
"This will be an important connection to the West Coast from Santa Fe," said Governor Richardson.

The new Santa Fe Convention Center opened in September, 2008. It faced all the hurdles of municipal construction plus a few more, owing to its location in a historic city and the desire to build and operate the center in as 'green' a manner as possible.

ART Santa Fe 2009 will be held July 23-26, 2009.
Galleries come from across the nation and Europe to participate in ART Santa Fe and it has been consistently reported to be a positive experience for them and for their collectors. So much so, in fact, that the number of requests for an annual fair simply became impossible to refuse. American Eagle will add a second daily, round-trip flight between the Santa Fe Municipal Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth on November 19, the same day new service between Los Angeles LAX and Santa Fe is scheduled to begin. The airline's first Dallas to Santa Fe service began June 11, 2009. It has been successful enough, with mostly full flights, to prompt the company to add a second connection.

The Santa Fe Convention Center held its official opening September 25, 2008-the only date available when the new facility wasn't already busy and booked. Even as finishing touches on the building were taking place, the center hosted Santa Fe Mayor David Coss' state of the city speech on September 3 and several Santa Fe Fiesta events before going into an active fall schedule of meetings and multi-day conferences.

It should come as no surprise that UNESCO just made Santa Fe America's first Creative City during a July (7/8/05) ceremony inducting the city into the Creative Cities Network in both Folk Art and Design.
