Santa Fe Convention & Visitors Bureau
Internet Privacy Policy
Updated April 2003
Protection of Information
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to the Santa Fe Convention &
Visitors Bureau (Santa Fe). Accordingly, Santa Fe adheres to the highest
ethical standards in gathering, using and safeguarding customer information
that is entrusted to the company.
Use and Collection of Customer Information
Santa Fe does not rent, sell or exchange information about its customers.
Access to information about Santa Fe customers is restricted to the Santa Fe
civic family (including other city-managed departments and/or businesses).
Accuracy and Security of Customer Information
Santa Fe makes all reasonable efforts to ensure that the customer
information it maintains is accurate, timely and secure. Santa Fe will
monitor and adopt, as appropriate, new technological developments that are
designed to aid in ensuring the accuracy and security of customer
information.
Personally Identifiable Information
By registering online for Santa Fe's communication programs, you are
voluntarily providing us with certain personally identifiable information
(for example, name, address, phone number and/or e-mail address). Santa Fe
visitors who do not want their personally identifiable information collected
online are asked not to submit such information to Santa Fe.
Santa Fe Web site visitors are informed that when they provide Santa Fe with
personally identifiable information online, that information is kept within
the Santa Fe civic family. Visitors are further informed that, unless
specifically stated otherwise, the personally identifiable information may
be stored and used by Santa Fe to better understand its customers' needs, to
improve the Santa Fe product and service strategy, and to contact customers
regarding offers that may be of interest to them.
If Santa Fe Web site visitors previously provided their e-mail addresses to
Santa Fe and would like to have their e-mail addresses removed from Santa Fe
e-mail mailing lists, Santa Fe asks them to send an e-mail message to scenter@ci.santa-fe.nm.us. Santa Fe informs such visitors that it will use
reasonable efforts to delete their e-mail addresses from its existing files.
Children
Santa Fe has no intention of collecting personally identifiable information
(name, address, phone, or e-mail address) from children (individuals under
the age of 13) online and using that information for marketing purposes.
Where appropriate, Santa Fe will specifically instruct children not to
submit such information on Santa Fe Web sites.
If a child has provided Santa Fe with an e-mail address, Santa Fe asks that
a parent or guardian of the child contact Santa Fe at scenter@ci.santa-fe.nm.us if they would like the e-mail address deleted from
Santa Fe e-mail mailing lists. Santa Fe informs customers that it will use
reasonable efforts to delete such e-mail addresses from its existing files.
Personally Identifiable Information Collected Automatically
Santa Fe Web sites may collect information from Web site visitors that is
not personally identifiable, including the visitor's operating system,
browser, domain name, and the specific web pages on the Santa Fe Web site
that are accessed or visited. Santa Fe only collects this information in
the aggregate, and only uses it to improve Santa Fe Web sites.
Information Placed Automatically on Visitors' Computers
Santa Fe informs Web site visitors that when they visit Santa Fe Web sites,
Santa Fe may store some information on the visitor's computer in the form of
a "cookie" or similar file. These files allow Santa Fe to tailor a Web site
to reflect a customer's listed or historical preferences. Most Web browsers
allow Web users to exercise control over such files on their computers by
erasing them, blocking them, or notifying the user when such a file is
stored. Santa Fe Web site visitors are asked to refer to their browser's
instructions to learn about those functions.
